Famous Citizens of and Visitors to Cincinnati
Cincinnati, OH is home to famous people and celebrities around the world. The Queen City has famous citizens past and present – here are just a few:
George Clooney – Famous son of local broadcaster Nick Clooney, George never forgets his roots are from Cincinnati. Once a favorite star of the medical drama ER, George is now a world-famous movie star with films such as Oceans Eleven and A Dangerous Mind. George also is famous around the world for stay a bachelor for some long into his life, just recently getting married in 2013.
Adrian Granier – Cincinnati has plenty of admiration of Ms. Granier who is part of the also famous case of the Marauders. The show, about a bank heist, was filmed in the Queen City where several locations were used for scenes. Ms. Granier declared after the movie that Cincinnati was her new favorite city.
Emilio Estevez – originally from Dayton, OH, native Martin Sheen (Emilio’s father) because a mainstay in Cincinnati, OH around 2012 when he came to the Queen City to shot a small budget film. Since then Emilio has been screen across the city at several places to include Over-the-Rhine and Fountain Square. He thrilled residents last year when he acknowledged the Queen City as saying he would someday love to move in a local neighborhood.
Don Cheadle – Mr. Cheadle filmed his famous move “Miles Ahead” in Cincinnati, OH around 2014. He has been a mainstay in the city since then, often appearing at the Esquire Theatre. He credits much of his success to the roles he played in Cincinnati and said he would love to do another movie in Cincy in the near future.
Russell Wilson - The famous quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks is quite fond of Cincinnati when he mentioned good times he had had in the Cincinnati when playing here against our hometown Bengals. As a matter of fact, Mr. Wilson was born in Cincinnati before moving at a young age to West Virginia. However, it wasn’t before he developed a passion for Skyline chili and Cincinnati Reds baseball.
Charles Dickens – the famous 19th-century British author, who penned classics such as “Oliver’s Twist” and “The Tale of Two Cities” is not from Cincinnati, but his history does include notable stops to the Queen City. On a tour of the US, Mr. Dickens stopped in Cincinnati in the 1840s publishing a book on his reflections noting Cincinnati was a progressive light for the rest of the world. He discovered the city of just 50,000 then to be beautiful and animated. He couldn’t have been more impressed with the river city that became known as the Queen City.
Kelly Clarkson – the famous singer, and winner of American Idol TV reality singing show, said a visit to Cincinnati last year revolutionize her life. She tweeted than downtown restaurant Boca was a life altering event and that the Riverbend Music Center was a love of her life as well.
